THIS photo would raise a few eyebrows now. Imagine trying to get that through the town, what with the new signs and bollards at the town hall.

We can’t see the time on the town hall clock so it can’t be school pick-up time or even lunch time but any delay in the flow of traffic along the High Street causes a massive tailback.

Thankfully, there is no parking outside the Eskdale Hotel now, which enables the traffic to at least get past the town hall quickly.

If anyone hadn’t noticed, there are new cameras at the bridge and near the town hall, along with the traffic monitors running along the High Street.

These have been placed by BEAR Scotland as part of a traffic survey it is doing for Transport Scotland.
